Yes, current 8890 and 5680 owners will be able to send their system in also to be painted. Sorry it's taken so long, we made sure we had the best paints, procedures, people doing it, and turn out. You will be able to send in a color sample and it will be matched as an option also. There will be an option for light gloss and high gloss. The exact price will be confirmed when it's put up as an option which should be by Wednesday. These will come with the full Sager warranty and the policies will be explained and laid out when they become an option.

Nice little teaser you got there. Can't wait to see what one looks like. I'd be especially interested to see a comparison between a custom color sent in, and the finished product.

Black. I want Black. That kind of black that is so black it hurts your eyes to look at it kind of black.

For those of you into HHGTHG you know the kind of black I am talking about - black that is bad for the eyes, so black, light just falls into it...

u'll have to make it all black...including the keyboard and hinges and buttons and leds. u wouldn't even be able to have the lcd on. then and only then would it be the ultimate black.

Ok ok - the LCD can be on, but you gotta have it showing a black background like the forum .

5670 paint jobs

I was just curious if those that have a 5670 system will be able to send those in to be painted as well, and, more specifically, if thse of us that made the mistake of buying from someone other thatn pc torque will be able to send them in to have the paint jobs done, and if so do we send them to pctorque, or to sager? thanks for any info

I highly doubt that Adam would refuse you if you bought somewhere else.

Think business model. He may not have gotten the sale, but that should not deter from making a smaller, but still profitable sale here.

As for 5670... its a good question. I would imagine some parts would be compatible, but not all, unfortunatly...

I gotta believe that the 5670 could be sent in to be painted as well. How is a laptop part not 'compatible' to get painted?
After all, the old AW was painted and it's the same laptop (disclaimor to the AW haters: although the Sager has much better support and service).

EDIT:
BTW, I love the multiple options for chameleon colors.

See, AFAIK, PCT uses new, spare parts for the paint jobs. I dont know what happens to the original (maybeu get it back? dunno). So, for a 5670, they would have to have the right parts (since the bottom case is different).

Dear io_burn, screw you and that sweet ass ride you have, im getting my 5680 in that color, but only cause i had planned on it before you posted that pic....that sweet, sweet pic....drool
p.s so we need to buy a full sager warrenty on the thing to get the paint job? cause if thats true...then im going to need to rethink my entire config for the thing....im thinking nothing more than $2200, with the ram and hdd and uxga and such....damn, such is life

=D!

christ i need to read those again...so good.

-Emyrs

Edit: god those are some pretty colors! look at those chameleons! =O ... but i cant justify the $250+ right now...not after the 2500 just for the lappy. I had good success painting an old desktop case...2color (black/blue) high gloss mirror finish. maybe in a year when my warrenty runs out ill paint it for myself. i best start practicing on curvy pieces of plastic i have lying around the house =D in a year i should be able to master it ^^
