So I guess having the thing plated is just a terrible idea.

It seemed so nice kicking around in my head.

How exactly would u plate plastic?
There are companies that will do this for you; I have a link for this somewhere. My motorcycle is a prime example of the use of plated plastic.

There is also a company that makes a very durable resin that has a system for coloring plastic as it cures with a metallic look; they also make a clear resin that you can tint. I would think recasting all the parts would be a pain, but if you could work out all the tolerances it could make for a very nice system.

Depends on where you're standing relative to the motion of the notebook.

I'd love to, but the store doesn't like Opera 5 on OpenBSD.

So if i've got my little 5670 here, what are my options... Will Pctorque ever offer to paint mine?? Please, because it would be so cool to have mine freakin green and silver. Also btw, you say you could color match any color. Could you do that for the color shifting? Like, if i gave you two colors, could you do that? Probably not, but just asking! Thanks

okay

okay...high gloss red.
How much?

PCTorque rocks...as usual. Soon as I get in contact with my funds (parents) I plan to get a paint 5680. However, the color selection is quiet dissapointing to me. TOO MANY GOOD CHOICES!

Noble Green, Aegean Blue, or Red/Gold (no Green Purple Mustange for me).

Btw, would it be possible to get lower res picture on the paints? I am thinking all the colors look grainy because of the res. Or higher res if I don't make sense.

They look "grainy" because they're automotive paints. Automotive paints, particularly those, tend to have particulate matter in them -- usually flakes -- to enhance the effect of the paint. In fact, that's entirely how the Chameleon paints work.

The Hummer paints are just "metallic" paints -- paints with shiny flecks in them.

If you want to know what they look like other than that swatch, google for "hummer $COLOR_NAME" and you're bound to find pictures (particularly using their image search feature).

Or google for "chameleon $COLOR_NAME".

E..g., the firehouse red is actually a bright red, but you can't tell from that swatch; the swatch looks like a very dark maroon.

gsferrari,
Would rock if you could get Kali on your laptop...dunno about the religious backlash though when you end up killing everyone on a game server.
