How do you pronounce ASUS ?

Hey everyone,
I hope someone here can settle this argument with a friend of mine.

How do u pronounce the name 'ASUS' (computer manufacturer's, duh right?)

Also, if u can post proof (as hard and frankly silly as that may sound) that would be much appreciated.

I believe it is supposed to be said "ah-sous," but I say "a-sus" (like the a in hay and sus as in suspect).

I say Asus as, A'sis.

A just like you pronounce the letter by itself. A.

Sis, like in the shortening of sister. A+sis.

It's pronounced a-seuss (with a long "a", similar to the "a" in ball or wall)...at least that's how the people at Asus' North American customer service say it...but I still say it the way Enderet mentioned in my head...

I always though it was .. pronounced as "A" "Sis" (sounds natural, with the ending like Lices)
I've heard this guy from a comp retailer say it was "A" "Seus"(kinda sound like A+Zeus)

O ya is Nvidia = "N" + vidia?

Damn!

Much appreciated everybody. I didn't think I'd get all these replies in like 5 minutes.

Even though, theres quite a varied list of pronounciations, I think that I am probably wrong and that my friend is right.

I just pronounced it like ACES (as in poker - Aces are wild) while he insisted it was Ah Sous like the first reply siggested.

Damn! Now I have to buy lunch at Red Lobster. Thank God for 30 shrimp for $11.99 but he can get his own drinks.

iIf your friend is pronouncing it as Ah-Sous he is incorect. It should be an A sound as in Apple, not an AH sound. So... you can still save face and say that you both were wrong and have to buy lunch for eachother!

My experience with TV, and tech support conversations has been that:

Asus = ay-soos
nvidia = ehn-vid-ee-uh

Its like fingernails on the chalkboard to me when people pronounce it "nuh-vid-ee-uh".

I say Aeseus. Add "a", like in "came", onto the greek god "zeus" but replacing the z with an s. aeseus.

Hey, I was wondering the right way to say it. I pronounce it with a long "a" and "suhs", so it would rhyme with mesas. Asus, mesas.
