Okay, first off I'm a NOOB. See my sig for my incoming system. What I would like to do first is some simple home video editing, so I need the software to be user friendly. However my friends are into video editing big time but are "Mac" for life kind of guys using "Final Cut." I would like something that would be comparable for the PC or I'll never hear the end of it. Any suggestions?

I have this memory installed in my Inspiron 14R. 6gb (one 2gb & one 4gb). Great performance! I highly recommend Kingston.

Well what can I say, I needed that little bit of extra storage that as a family we could all use. After searching around I narrowed it down to three suppliers, not the cheapest, but all well...

I purchased this Nook Color specifically because I was taking a very long trip to China and wanted to be able to read without carrying a ton of books. I also liked that it had email capability...

This is an awesome mouse with an excellent grip for a mid sized to large size hand. Right-handed, comfortable, trendy, upscale, red, responsive, functional, task oriented. Overall A+++

I've used Ulead and Pinnacle and didn't like either of them. I also tried the demo version of Adobe Premier which I think was very complicated. The very best video editor I ever used, and the one I use now, is Sony Vegas. It is a high end NLE (non-linear editor), with a lot of features. It's also pretty easy and intuitive to use. It's expensive, like all of the good editors but it's worth it.
Here is some info on it.

Vegas costs $399.95 (discounted through May 31)

Or if you're a student you can get a huge discount by buying the academic version for $189. The academic version is the exact same as the full version.

Good luck with whatever you choose.

Adobe Premiere Pro is very similar to Final Cut. For the "Prosumer" market, most people use Premiere or Vegas. Avid is a big player in the Professional area, but I think Avid XPress Pro 5 HD is similarly priced/featured (may have more features) to Premiere and Vegas.
I originally started out using Vegas, but migrated over to Premiere and I'm not sure I can go back.
They all have demo versions too!
