Thread Starter
i wanna buy a T43 with educational discounts (edu. web prices), ibm asks me for a student id (fine by me) as the only way for them to prove that i am currently enrolled at school, my problem is that i just applied for admission and all that, im waiting for the admission test results which will come within 1-2 weeks, so obiously i have not yet fully completed my registration for classes and obtained a student id (till i get the results).... mean while im desperated to get a spanking new t43 but i dont think i have no other choice than wait the 1-2weeks.... any opinions there?

thanks a lot.

I'm in the same boat, looking for a T43 before summer school starts in June. Any ideas as to how/where to get better pricing than the edu discounts?

Regarding the ID verification... I don't have a picture ID but a school ID card with my name and student number on it... is a pic ID necessary?

where exactly does it ask for the ID. I went till checkout and the credit card information but nowhere it asks for an ID. Am I doing sumthing wrong?

another option you have is to go to IBM's website look for the model you want with the specs and everything... then go to CDW's website and buy it there. I usually find it slightly cheaper there. Anyone know of anywhere else to buy them? I tried thinkpads.com and didn't find their prices all that cheap... (am i looking in wrong spot??)
