Well I have done the dreaded formate and reinstall. Everything seems to be working fine for now. I used the drivers from sager's site. I used dx9. (I dont have ht, 2.4 ghz) I have installed just the basics so far. Office, nero windvd, BF 1942, DC. I ran all the xp updates before installing the drivers, so that they would not over write some of the driver's dll's and such. That includes dx9. I did not have anything conected to the laptop while installing os and driver, not even my ms track ball. Yes I knew to take out the mp3 player. I just played DC for about 45 mins no problems. I have to install my video software next. Lets hope I had "bit rot" and the drivers released in july haved fixed the problems. When I last installed them I only uninstalled the video driver and install the new ones, maybe it didnt take. Well I have got to get some sleep. It is after 2 am!
