Getting a Dell PDA cheap?

I wanted to get an axim v30 or v50 (if I can get it cheap enough), and I was wondering if dell ever had big sales/coupons on them like they do with laptops. Or, are there any coupons or tricks like going through EPP or anything else.

Has anyone gotten a really good deal on one?

I got my X50v in December (about a month after it came out) for $365 shipped with a 25% off Dell Home coupon. It's not to hard to get a deal like this.

http://www.xpbargains.com/best_deal....axim_deals.htm

Dell Axim X50v 624MHz Handheld for $499 + $1 padding - $80 dell coupon - $65 Dell coupon = $354 w/ free shipping.

You can see a lot of pics and comparison's here:

Coupons That Still Work:
$80 off - $G9TBC$3BSTL1?
10% off - FTP4G89V?41R1H (Stackable)(Must use DPA)

I tried entering the other ones but they seem to have expired already.

hmm...I can't get the $65 off coupon to work, and I don't have a DPA (is taht something i could get for this or is that a bigger deal?), so the best I am getting is $437 (with a $16 charger, so $421). Not too bad, but still a lot more than $354...

Can anyone get that coupon to work? If I can get it into the $300s I'd buy it right now, but $440 is a little much ....

or, should i just get the 520mhz version for $330? Is there going to be much of a difference?

The $65 off coupon doesn't work because it is expired, plus I am not sure if it will work for the Axim because it was an accessories/electronics coupon. The DPA account is only a good idea if you plan on paying your entire bill right away, or else the interest rates are really high and you might end up paying more.

DPA=Dell Preferred Account. Yeah, all the other coupons seems to be expired, the $80 off is the only one that still seems to be alive.

I am not sure if there would be a speed difference, but I would just wait around and I am sure there will be some new deals/coupons released shortly.

They might discount the Axim alot right before father's day...that;s my guess.

Father's Day isn't until June 19th, so you have a while if you want to wait to purchase it then. Also, I read that Dell may introduce it's first Axim PDA/Phone in mid 2006. They also are going to upgrade the OS, but I am not sure when. Here is the article:

according to that article it won't be until mid 2006

"In mid-2006, Dell intends to introduce its first cellular-wireless handheld."

Tag this thread since I'm looking to get an X50 soon.

In the article it also says:
"This fall, Dell plans to release a new handheld with a multimedia focus.

This device, whose name is unknown at this point, will be targeted at consumers. Dell will emphasize its audio and video playback capabilities, as well as its ability to play games."

So, there are at least two new PDAs to be released in the next 12 months or so. Regarding the OS upgrade, it does not say anything. And if you hear the OS will be upgraded and they tell you the date, might be worth waiting for it.
I bought the Axim x3i last year and within a month there was an upgrade available, but Dell did not get us the upgrade, it was just available in the new PDAs.
Lots of people were upset with Dell.
Another thing, my sister asked me to buy one for her. She only need a simple one for schedulle and some note taking. Surfing the web with it i thought to be very unreliable, and now that i have the 700m.
I do use a lot as a reminder, oh, it is the best.

Good luck, and keep us updated if there is any great deal available, i will do the same!!
