loaded a fresh copy of xp home on this hp amd system that i'm fixing up. it was great for the first couple days. then seti@home(the ultimate barometer of a computer's health) started taking 90 hours+ for a single wu...my imac 233 takes only 24 or so hours. i rebooted and it gave me a missing windows system file error. so i decide to reinstall winblows. i completely wipe the partition and perfrom the "long" format for NTFS after making 2 partitions of her. now, for some reason, during the install proces i am being prompted to insert the "Windows XP Home Edition Service Pack 1 CD". wtf. it installed just great with the one single solitary xp home oem disk two days ago. wtf? i navigate it to the i386 folder think it mighta just lost its way, but no. i tell it to skip file and it then asks me again and again and again for the disk with each successive file. am i losing my mind? why is windows doing this to me?
