Screen Went Dead ...

Hey guys!

Something odd happened while I was using my laptop. My internet connection dropped so I attempted to restart, but it froze so I shut it down from the power button on the keyboard. Then when I started up the system, the power came on but the screen was blank and not even the alien eyes were on as if the screen went dead. Then after about 20 minutes it finally restarted with the screen back on.

Is something wrong with my screen? Has this happened to anyone before? I've had my AW laptop for about 8 months now (51m 5500) and this is the first problem that's ever occured.

Any help would be appreciated!

Yup

Yeah, I've got a 7700 and I shut it down the other day and when I turned it back on, no screen. I can hear everything working...buzzing about and the eyes do light up...but no picture. Never had any problems with the computer before this...but it pisses me off that I now have a $4000 cd player...

Actually I just got my lappy back from repair due to the same prob.
In fact, you can see the image on the LCD but it's super dimmed. Turn off all your lights and you will see something funny on the background.
Maybe the LCD cable is loosen. Call them to send a local guy to your house for repair.

Same problem here

Damn man I have the same exact problem going on here. 3 month old 7700 and I have to send it back now for repairs. Alienwares return procedure is a pain compared to Dells. Anyway I know how ya feel cause this just happened to me today and it sucks. Good Luck.
