Hey all, just curious i'm in Hong Kong and just purchased an ibm X40 over here for work and want to reinstall the notebook to get rid of all the garbage that came with it. Does anyone know if this model can boot from a usb cd drive since it does not come with a cd drive? Also i believe the default setup has a partition for recovery on the c: drive. I am planning to get rid of this while i do the reinstallation. Anybody tell me if there is something i need to know about thinkpads since i am a noob to ibms? If i can indeed boot from a usb drive then i plan on first wiping the drive, then reinstalling windows. The notebook did not come with any support disk and i am not willing to lose the quickkey functions. Has anybody done this before and know if all support files can be accessed from the support site? Thank You for the replies and sorry for the lengthy post.
