yay - updates!!
i love updates, i got scared when i saw "this will be the final release" i thought you were giving up
will the new fanio possibly give more control over fans, much like hardware control does? the slow fast settings are ok, but i really wanted some more control, specially now with the GPU AND Cpu temp controls
*good work!!*

i have an 8600, should i be using 8 or 9? the new 9 gives me 4* higher Gpu readings, i think the older 9 was ok though...
advice?

FanGui & Speedstep:
Recently updated to i9kfan. 8 worked well, 9's even better ! Thanks !
Query; Since installing the latest version, my 9300 has run at 1.73 always ..... even when the usage is at 2-3% for many minutes. Used to have Much time at 800Mz. [seemed too much at times]. But NONE now. (?)
Is there some action I should take to get speedstep to change speeds [& therefore battery usage] as needed for the processing load ??
Thanks, Bilbo

Check 'Options' Status reading to see if "Realtime speed calculation" is selected.

Using 2.2.1.03b, my Quadro FX Go1400 reports a few degrees higher than it's actual temperatures as well...any planned fix? thx, great program!

Nice, we actually got someone who voted for "Complete Crap!" for I9kfangui.. guess ya never can please everyone. lol

As for the temp question referencing the Quadro FX Go1400, it will more then likely be 4c higher as that offset is required for the 9300/xps2 series video cards. May make an option for the 4c offset on non 9300/xps2 laptops in the next version, just need to find the time to work on it.

Thanks for that quick reply, spudsdude! Looking forward to every update!

Will it let me display the DIMM and GPU temps on top of eachother in the system tray in addition to the CPU and HD temps in another icon? The original fangui only let me do one tray icon that displays the temps. Using i600m.
Ohhhh ok, the 4 bits is what mines off too
2.2.0 reads 37, 2.3.1b reads 41, wondered why..
yea a clicky option would Rock =D
not ALL of us are cool enough to have a 9300/xps2

I have it selected in 'Options' to display CPU and GPU alongside Fan Speeds as those are the temps that control the Fans. My HD and DIMM temps run the 'coolest' and don't change much

Spudsdude explained in an earlier post about the addition of the '4C' on the GPU Temperature readings. Something to correct/calibrate the readings for the 9300 model.

The D800's Go5650 128MB card read way higher to start with, it's showing 64 on NVIDA and 68 on FanGUI but "Core slowdown is set foe 118C with a check to notify if threshold is exceeded There is no way to lower that "Threshold" but I am pleased as long as system is comfortable on my lap and "68C" feels fine (Over 60C for over three seconds can cause third degree burns to your lap.)

Right, I have the same setup (fan speeds in one icon and Cpu temp on top of the HD temp in another icon). What I want is another icon showing the DIMM temp on top of the GPU temp (or the other way around). Currently, I have to move the mouse over the icon showing the HD/CPU temp to see the DIMM and GPU temps. Also, it would be cool to be able to set their forground or the background color so as to easily differentiate them.

There is a 4*C addition to the GPU temp reading for the I6000 as well. Kinda wierd that older versions have the correct temp though. Otherwise, the program friggin rocks. Spudsdude, thanks so much for all of your updates. This program is great.

One thing that is kinda funny though. The i6000s have only one fan - and when I try to set the second fan to "no change" in i9kfangui for all temps the program tells me "You must turn at least one fan to slow or high speed for the CPU and GPU controls!. To prevent you from destroying your laptop, I will NOT save these values. Please Try again."

Funny.

The program is great, thanks again!!!

Awww come on, if i want to destory my computer, let me =D
(in refernce to the 11C 2/3 step jump, if only that wasnt there i could make a killer profile, but otherwise my fan hits high and then takes forever to cool it back down far enough to not make a ton of noise..11c is to far to make my system work properly, could you make it 5 or have an "advanced" mode with no warnings?
the bios has a "middle of the road" 3000 rpm speed for both the cpu and the gpu fans, but "slow" is defined as ~2600 rpm while "high" is ~4000 rpm. it'd be nice if these "middle of the road" speeds were also available. sorry if this has been mentioned before.
