I haven't had time to read the thread, but would it be possible to get an onscreen adjustable demonstration of the same info that can be pulled from the application itself (ie. Battery Monitor.NET type app).
post #162 of 194
No "onscreen adjustable demonstration" in the threads, but there are onscreen images in those other two threads that I provided the links for on post #160.

edit:- adding them here: I9kfangui Version 2.2.2 is here! and Beta Testers Wanted - I9kfangui

Also, you will find a link to the developer's (spudsdude) Home Page and I think that may contain some of what you are looking for:

Welcome to M.D.I. {LINK HERE}

This has been a VERY WORTHWHILE improvement to the basic i8 FanGUI for my D800 as well, control of GPU Fan by GPU Temperature
was an excellent idea and there have been absolutely no problems with this utility.

I still use the V2.2.1.03b version as I found that I could just create a 'Profile' to speed those Fans up to High Speed at will and that
seemed to be the change added for the more recent revisions.

You should also visit:

Dell Inspiron 8x00 fan control utility {Link to the creator's website}

and also read the "Manual" and FAQ's on that site

SPUDSDUDE has promised to release a "Stand-Alone" installation, but for all the previous versions, you had to first install
the basic program from the above site. This is all explained in the 'threads' and you should read through them

It would be very important for you to know, for example, that your XPS2 uses Both Fans for extra cooling of its GPU..
(Most other systems use Fan #1 for CPU and Fan #2 for GPU and i6000's, 600m and 700m have only one fan.)

I am having a problem with I9kfangui. The program runs fine, but the problem is when I start my computer, and after I log on a dialog box comes up, and says "Terminating: Program already running." after my desktop loads and i have to click okay. After that it starts the program, and everything is fine. I have deleted the Reg. Keys and everything. Any idea why this is happening?

Just posting to say awesome job spudsdude

This program works absolutely flawlessly. I just recently started using it after I pin-modded my 745 to 2.4GHz and needed different fan settings to accommodate the increased temps. Just fantastic, cant think of a single thing wrong with it.

post #175 of 194
Is anyone still working on this thing?
post #176 of 194
Doesnt look like it, the last release was nearly 1 year ago and the forums for it are a bit empty.
Im sure someone will update it some day to incorporate the new laptops.
post #177 of 194
It still works fine. You just have to tweak it a bit on new systems.

I use them on all my systems on my sig, and the temps do match ATItool.
post #178 of 194
Thats good to know
post #179 of 194
I take that back. With M1730, I have to offset it 7C, and GPU sensor index number to 4 after driver update to match ATITool.

I didn't have to do that before the update though. Strange.

I would much rather see i9kfangui make a come back or i8kfangui GUI be made to look more like i9k's.
