IBM T42p [2373Q1G] vs. Samsung M40plus WVM 1800: Loudness?

Hallo,

I want to buy a T42p (2373Q1G). My only open question is the loudness of this notebook in comparison to e.g. Samsung M40plus WVM 1800. The Samsung notebook is - regarded to some tests - a very quiet notebook: in normal mode it reaches 0.5 Sone, in full load it reaches 1.8 Sone. Any Sone values for the IBM T42p?

Hi Cedric,

I have a T41p, which is, apart from the processor and the display, very similar to your desired T42p. As far as I can tell it's very quiet. You cannot hear the fan when idle and under full load it's not that loud either. I didn't find any exact sone values, but I've read in several forums that the fan behaviour on the T42p should be the same as on my T41p.

In overall IBM T-series laptops are simply awesome and I don't regret getting mine.
