UGURU 3rd Eye Clock for Area 51 5550

I have the ABIT AA8XE mobo in my PCI Express based Area 51. I ordered Abit's 3rd eye clock which plugs directly into this motherboard along with several others ABIT boards AA8-DuraMax, AG8, AS8, AV8, AX8, and KV8-Pro

Contents of the package (Clock, combo cable-slot pass-through)

I opened the Predators side panel, removed the fastener for the bottom slot I/O shield. I fed the 3rd eye clock end of the cable from inside to outside and slipped the shield in place. I screwed the fastener to firmly attach the pass-thru shield. I plugged the internal connector to the motherboard right below the UGURU chip. It's a 4 pin connector (3 pins-space-1pin). I put the Predator cover back in place and secured. Next I plugged the USB looking end of the cable into the clock. Immediately it displayed the room temperature and the current time (nice). I next pushed the on/off button (1 of 3) left facing clock. This powered up my Area 51, no more having to open the front case door to power up. All the displays on the front of the clock came to life.

Top left quadrant - CPU Speed in MHz
Top right quadrant - cycling temp readout of CPU / SYS / PWM-VGA
Bottom right quadrant - cycling display of voltages to all devices CPU, NB etc
Bottom left quadrant - Display of all Fan RPMs or as I use CPU for pump rpm
Bottom left Time / Middle email alert / Bottom right - room temperature
You can also freeze the cycling to display a selected item to monitor

Anything on the software the 3rd Eye can display see pic below

The 3rd Eye was purchased from Newegg for 29.99 (includes shipping)

I really like the UGURU software and this just gives control and monitoring capabilities without having to look at the software display. Nice during gaming with an overclocked system. I can also quickly cycle thru any selection on the clock and control that function. http://www.abit-usa.com/technology/3rd-eye.php

Oh how I hate you!

That is the nicest gadget I have seen for awhile. I wish I had an Abit board or that Asus had something similar.

Jealous? Yes!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Let us know further how it goes in use.

Will do...the simplist thing I use it for is to power system up or shut it down, as you know the front drive door can be tricky to open and this just lessens the number of time I have to jab it.

It's a bit more expensive, but you could buy an LCD and pair it with Motherboard Monitor.

Abit's AMD based Athlon 64/64FX 939-pin K8 motherboard. The Fatal1ty AN8 nForce4 Ultra has uGuru also built into it.

Also the AI7 865PE 800MHz FSB is a uGuru Motherboard

Really a neat but very useful add on if your AW comes with one of ABIT's boards.

You got it....allll....righty

Come on AW put these in the gear shop or option them during ordering for ABIT mobo'd rigs. Better yet shape the clock like the Alienware "Alien Head" double the price and we'll still be happy.

It typically runs 45C idle or 113F with water cooling, under load (gaming) & OC'd to 4 GHz, I run 52C or 125C, before water cooling same conditions I was running 66C or 170F. GB with 69F as your temp I'd be OC'ing that to record levels

The Intel fan was running 4260rpm and shaking the whole computer with vibration. That's why $120 bucks for the Tt Big Water was the best money I could have spent

It's only around 18-20c

Not nearly cold enough for world records..

My ram is my limiting factor right now, I've had it to 2.7ghz, but it wasn't stable.

GBrilliant: He had his CPU temp in degrees F in that picture...works out to around 40 C.
