Hmm, I can even see it in a bright room...isn't that light supposed to be outside the human visible spectrum?

An after thought

I know I'm comming in to this post late, but I just thought I would throw in a little info for those disabling the IR port in device manager. That is only your data port, it dose not disable the IR port for the remote. I have the data IR port disabled and I still use the remote to run music match.

hey ive tried all of this with my 5680 and still get the noises....disable ir, disable modem, disable firewire, mute everything except main out and wave

its not so bad cause ive got a minidisc that i can hook up over spdif, but id like to be able to use the normal port without all the frying egg sounds

i noticed theres an xp update for the realtek soundcard, has anyone tried that and did it make any difference?

edit: found another thread that suggests removing the power lead and this fixed it.... no more noisey playback, well only for the hour or so that i can use battery power, heheh
