When OSX 'Tiger' comes out...

Will Apple automatically include it in all new computers; if so, will the previous ones, that had Panther, be cheaper?

I've been looking into possibly getting an iBook, and I'm a real penny-pincher.

The day it comes out, you get the install DVD (free) with your purchase... it comes in the box and you install it when you get home. A couple of weeks later (up to even 1 month), it will be installed on all new purchased machines.

Ah thanks.

Drats, I was hoping to get a special bargain. :P

how much you lookin' ta spend?
I got mine for $949
iBook G4 1.2GHz 12"
student discount only saves you $50, but $50 goes a long way when you're a student. In my case, i took the $50 i saved and got a 512mb KINGMAX stick from newegg.
if not a student, i heard amazon is a great place cause' they have pretty nice MIR.

i thought you had a powerbook?
long story short...

was selling dell 6000 on craigslist, got scammed by a buyer in africa that sent me fake bidpay payments. shipped it out to him using FedEx, found out later that day the buyer was scamming me, called FedEx to have them turn the package around, they had a whole week to stop it from being shipped, but they couldn't stop it. so i was out $1100 or so. Had ta sell my powerbook to pay for the scammed Dell

yea, i'm stupid for allowing myself to be scammed. Should've known...., oh well.

borrowed some money from the gf and got myself an iBook.

ps. any of you guys know who i could contact to maybe trace my Dell over in Nigeria?
no clue, bc he could prolly turn around and sell it to someone in the states so you never know what those fools would do. shit man that sucks....how did you find out the bidpayments were fake too late? with those guys they want the product shipped immediately bc youwill find out and get scammed, this happens to me all the time on ebay. they make up a story that their son is studying in africa and needs a laptop real bad and will give you X amount of dollars if you ship IMMEDIATELY and they will WIRE you money supposedly or send you a money order, but by the time you figure out the money order is fake the laptop is gone.
yup, that was the exact story i got from the guy. his son just graduated, and was living in africa...
i did a search for the address he wanted me to ship to in africa, and found a link where some guy was saying he just got scammed too, and the e-mail address and fake bidpay e-mails were identical. called FedEx two hours after they had picked it up from my local Kinkos store where i had dropped it off...
so there is nothing else they can do to catch these fools?
i'm not sure i understand: if the money arrives in your bank account, it's there right? i would simply not ship until i can see the money in my account.
that's the problem, the bank later finds out it's fake and he shipped the laptop already, then the bank prolly let him know it was fake, but his laptop was already gone. that's why those guys want you to ship ASAP...so you will be too late too and SOL. so he should have waited several days to MAKE SURE the payment would clear, and if it couldn't and found out it was fake he would still have his lappy right now.

I was selling my gateway on ebay and somebody from nigeria offered $2000 and wanted express shipping. He said that it was his son tha was going to college. He wanted pay via Western Union. I told him to sent as american express travel voucher or bank check and after payment cleared, I would send laptop. Never heard from him again. Never but never sell stuff to anybody from Nigeria

yea, i just wish there was someone i could contact to catch this guy. I'm sure the FBI could do something about it. But they'll just be like, "it's just one college student, he only lost $1100 or so, it's not that much." It's freakin' a hell of a lot when you're a college student and jobless. Man, i wish i could afford a ticket ta fly over ta Nigeria and deliver this guy another package.
Anyone live over in Nigeria, wanna check out an address for me? Just pretend your a FedEx guy and ask for Michael or Andrew Christopher. I'm pretty sure the address is a office building or something like that, cause' FedEx said it was sign by the front desk, but the person who signed for it was Andrew Christopher, so i'm thinking he works at the front desk or something like that.

but yea, i'm even more pissed that FedEx couldn't stop it. i mean, they had a week to track it down before it was suppose to deliver. seriously, what good are tracking numbers if you can't truely track down a package and stop it at anytime. And they were like, we know exactly where it is, don't worry sir, we have agents on it right now, BULL $hit, they could've given a ratz a$$ about my package. I mean, why bother scanning each individual package before loading on the delivery truck if you can't stop a particular package.
I'm sure if i told FedEx i had shipped a freakin' bomb by mistake, and that it was set to go off right before it was suppose to be delivered, they would've found it. They're just lazy, should've told them it was a bomb, damnit, would've been arrested, but would've gotten my Dell back.

very bad experience, never send anything to NIGERIA, highest risk scamming country in the world, cause' half of customs is probably in on it.

Not a guy, I guess there is many gangs doing these ilegal things (and many others) in Nigeria. Best is to keep away from it.

I also think that eBay should warn sellers about these frequent fraud actions. Did you inform eBay about it?

You clould always buy from apple's "Special Deals" page (on the bottom right corner of the apple store). It seems to change every day or so, sometimes so great stuff on there. There's an iBook for $799 right now.
