SD Mem. slot not reading card. what driver do i need?

Please if someone could help me out. that would be awsome. I just reformatted and my SD slot isn't working. also, do I need to install the ALPS driver? let me know. thanks

I had the same problem the driver that you need is part of XP SP2. I went a week trying to get that thing to work. Then I just installed SP2 and voila it worked!

question. is there a way to make that detect MMC's? generally most SD stuff works on MMC and vice versa. But MMC off my nokia phones wont detect on my 9300

i'm in the process of doing all the updates. thanks for the input. in device manager, it shows that i have a PCI something. that doesn't have drivers installed for it. I can't figure out what it is. if someone could help me out that would be awesome. thanks

Once agian, the Notebook System Software from Dell's download page should fix the problems.

I just tried a 16MB MMC from my new Canon camera and it doesn't seem to be working. I've got a 512MB SD card arriving soon that will hopefully work.

I never got my SD card working either. I have all the drivers and it shows up in the Control Panel -> System -> Hardware list, but nothing that I can access.

Well, for what it's worth - my 512MB Kingston SD card arrived today and works fine in my i6000d. As soon as I insert the card, it shows up under "Devices with Removable Storage" as a "Secure Digital storage device."
