Another update:
Play will now toggle between Play and Pause (Winamp/Foobar) -- as it should.
Stop button now exits the player if the player is already in a 'stopped' state (Winamp/Foobar)
File size increased by 4kb as a result.

Dude I like your style of customizing. I can't think of a better way to use these keys.
I'm gonna make small donation, I'm a poor student that can't give much tho.

Thanks but you shouldn't have. I'm a student myself so don't donate unless you're richer than me.

For the people that have gotten this to work, how should I edit the Reg file? Right now it says:

Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\ASUS\HControl]

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\ASUS\HControl\Custom]
@="C:\\Program Files\\Klient\\klient.exe"

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\ASUS\HControl\MediaPlayer]
@="C:\\Program Files\\Winamp\\winamp.exe"

The winamp part I guess is fine, but what is the Klient part? Thanks.

Nevermind. I just went ahead and added it as is and it worked. Great little utility.

The custom key can point to any application you want.

It's used with the CD on/off switch that's on the M6N model laptops (not sure about other models, if they have this) to launch any application you choose instead of the default WMP.

Hope that answers your question.

Update on the site.

Fixed 99% CPU usage issue with Stop buttons and Pause/Play now works correctly with Foobar.

Seems to be a new glitch. When you use the play button to open winamp and then use it to play. Winamp seems to be stuck and you either have to hit stop, change songs or hit play again to pause it then press play again to make it actually play the song.

Not sure what you mean.

I press play, it starts Winamp and starts playing.

[edit] Anyone else experiencing what he's describing?

Works as it should in Winamp 2.80. Pressing play once opens Winamp and automatically starts playing. Pressing play again pauses the song.

I'm using Winamp 5.08e and what happens is when I use the play button to open winamp, you get the play symbol but it's stuck, you don't hear the song, it just stays at 0:00 until I pause it or use the other buttons. It might just be me.

Edit: Never mind you guys convinced me so I reinstalled winamp and it's fine again.

I can stop posting these if no one cares.

Update:
- Power4Gear' button now launches a program of your choice (HKLM\Software\ASUS\HControl\P4G-button) if P4G (BatteryLife.exe) is not running (so remember to merge the new registry file with this update!)

Asus should pay me...
Keep on Posting. This stuff rocks. I don't use the P4G program so I had an extra button but now I can use it for something.

Asus should pay you man, Cuz I would love to but I can't.

This is the coolest thing I've ever been able to do with my z80k... wow.

If I want to change the custom button can I just re-merge the reg file?

Mayb ask the mods to move it to an asus section (asus reviews) and sticky it there. That way it won't be lost if you stop updating it.

Update (0.0.3.5):

- 'TouchPad' button will now launch a program of your choice (HKLM\Software\ASUS\HControl\TPad-button) if touchpad drivers cannot be loaded (merge new reg file!)
- 'Wireless' button will now launch a program of your choice (HKLM\Software\ASUS\HControl\WLAN-button) if Intel Proset isn't present (merge new reg file!)

The Wireless I could test and seems to work but I have the touchpad drivers installed (I'm not gonna hassle through a uninstall/reinstall just for this) so I couldn't just trace the function and had to therefore guess the jump it would take.

[edit] So in other words, I don't know if the touchpad button works yet...

I got an idea!

for that open/close cd button, you could change it to switch the REW/FF to Vol Down/Vol Up. would be awsome to have instead of always using the fn key to lower/raise volume.

also, since im typing here, does the CD player still work fine when the computer is off ? (probably not since that is built into the bios...)

There is no such thing as Rev/FF within HControl. That only works in CDplayer mode when the computer is off.
1. Looks like my F2 wiress button is disabled using your HControl. It's the button that normally enables or disables both bluetooth and wireless in one shit.
2. Once I launch a media player, it can never launch again. I updated to the latest version on ASUS' site.

Any ideas?
hey you think we can get VLC Player support with this please? I'd really appreciate it, thanks.
