They're still scheduled to be released the end of October for ordering. Keep in mind, this is an ESTIMATE and subject to change.

The 4080 is getting the glossy LCD!

Discuss it HERE

Here's an update on the delay for the Sager 4780 and Sager 4080 shipping from Sager:

Reason for the delay of SAGER NP4780 & NP4080

Because the root of the delay has to do with the AGP setting, I would like to take a few moments to explain a little regarding AGP 4x vs. AGP 8x.

The AGP 4x and 8x are not the speed of the bus but the bandwidth of the bus, and most modern programs do not require the full 8x bandwidth or even the 4x bandwidth. So when a graphic program, whether it be a game or a benchmark, does not reach over the 4x bandwidth, the FPS or the score provides little or no change between 4x vs. 8x. In some cases it might even provide better performance under AGP 4x.

Now, with that being said, let me explain in more detail the reason why the NP4780 & NP4080 are still on hold by SAGER and not shipping.

There is currently a bug surrounding the two models that SAGER and CLEVO have been working closely together to resolve. CLEVO has been working very closely with all the hardware vendors surrounding the systems on this issue.

What is this bug? When the system is running in AGP 8x there are slight chances of a corrupted frame during 3D gaming in a very random period of time (20~40min) of play. It goes away once a new frame is redrawn and repeated. The corrupted frame lasts for about 1 to 2 second depending on how fast a new different frame is being drawn. Such issues do not happen running in AGP 4x.

There have been debates as to whether the system should be shipped in AGP 4x mode but SAGER has decided against it. Instead SAGER is working and waiting for a solution for this AGP 8x issue before shipping the systems. While there has been some progress on the solution, it isn’t complete yet. SAGER is 100% against shipping the system in AGP 4x only setting.

However, there has been some internal debating regarding shipping it with a AGP 4x / 8x switch in the BIOS so the users will be able to use both options as they see fit for their games. This does not means that SAGER and CLEVO will stop working on an issue-free AGP 8x BIOS and Driver fix. We will continue our best to get the update out as soon as possible.
These systems use the SIS chipset vs the Intel chipset the 5680, 8890, and the 8790 will be using.

EDIT
4780 and 4080 systems are shipping out now and new orders ship usually in well under a week from ordering =).
