Samsung LCD appearance, try this

Thread Starter
Like others, my Samsung had washed out colors, not true 'blacks', etc. Today, I changed performance settings from 'let the computer automatically select best' to 'adjust for best appearance'. It made the world of difference, especially on black. Right click my computer, advance/performance settings/adjust for best appearance.
Try it and see if it helps you. Bob

Wow, that is very surprising. I was pretty sure that the menu you refer to has much more to do with fading, and shadows under the mouse and such. Not color depth or general appearance issues.

Turning on "Truetype" will help too, but I'm sure you already know about that one..........

Truetype, where's that? You mean Cleartype?

Let's use this thread for everyone with Samsung LCDs to post how they tweaked their setup to improve appearance please. So far we have 2 suggestions... I read something about nVidia properties turning down gamma to .66 or something?

You Gotme - I meant cleartype of course - truetype is font format.....

Turning down the Gamma and upping the "Digital Vibrance" does improve the displays appearance.....
exact values of gamma and vibrance are subjective, of course........

Some people suggest a Gamma of .89, but I find that it is much too dark for me.

Don't adjust that settings unless you want all your window configurations to get screwed up to default. Now I have to reset EVERYTHING manually to what I had before.
