Let's see how we use our eMachines or Gateway DTR notebooks.

Nearly everyday to work (7 days a week). At work I open and close it several times a day. Also I use it at home, basically as a front-end for my mixed environment computers.

Well I don't really go much places. They won't let me bring it to work so it just stays here except for on weekends.

My 7422GX is my work computer, my home computer, my LAN party computer... it does it all for me.

I use to take my M675 to work each and every day for the past year. Ran for 9 hours or longer at work and when I got home, it was on for around 3-5 each night. I took it everywhere using a backpack to offset the weight.

Ditto it is my main machine... I use it to play games and watch video mostly... and Scan the forums of course... I use it at work and home and for Lan Parties when I get the oppurtunity.

Wife uses a desktop machine I custom built so I don't have to share my notebook... I have M6811 as well.

Goes to and from the office with me every day, on every business trip, vacation, etc.

If they ever get something like WiMax where I could get ubiquitous Internet access wirelessly for a reasonable (<$50 month) broadband, it would never leave my side!

I work at home, and I love being able to go from my desk to in front of the living room window on those sunny days. On days when I need to get out of the house, I go over to my brother's place and sit out in the backyard and work. I can't imagine going back to a desktop system.

In and out of the hosue to work/studio. Every day.
Took it to the Hospital today, to play scrabble while the wife was in for a 4 hour exam.

If I am going to be home within 48 hours, it stays put right there on my desk. Any longer than that and it moves with me. When it is actually at home, it moves from my desk to my lap and back.

I bought my eMachines m2350 to take to work temperarily. For the next few months I'm kind of between assignments and in a period of "training", which looks like will be synonymous with boring. Hopefully having this thing with me will keep me sane. Problem is, now that my wife has seen it she wants one too.

Mine is for weekday commuting to work, not when I do international business travel. I hate big international airport in this regard.
