I created Dual machine sometime ago. The first drive is dedicated to the original install Win Home edition. When Win XP Pro 64Bit became available I partioned the drive and Instaled Win X64 on the second drive. Eveything ran fine at first and WIn X64 still does, However If I boot into Win Home it also works fine until shutdown. It then becomes very slow sometimes taking 10 minutes or longer to shutdown Windows XP Home.
Windows XP64 does not have this issue.
If I run 3rd party software such as Tune Up Utilities, and Adaware, I see no appreciable change. ( At first instance I thought a virus). but nothing changes after running these programs.
Norton Full Blown 2005 Edition. I've also considered Norton being the culprit.
Has anyone else noticed very slow shutdown times?
