I wonder is it normal that Firefox uses about 60000k memory?
and it is like laggin the laptop bad..
ah, no. You should uninstal and re-install, that is very unusual for firefox to take up that much memory at one time. It only would do that if you are ummm...downloading questionable material and running it from the browser, but even still thats a lot.

Yea.. I think that's werid too... I already installed the latest version of it.... I just opened about 5 tabs... and it is lagging bad..
yeah I would suggest re-isntalling it, and with your other post about system performance I would suggest doing all the other things I suggested to help speed up your performance short of tweaking xp, IMO I don't anyone relaly need to tweak xp to get good performance, its all about keeping yoru system clean from ad-aware and spyware and other random crap. My system I've had for almost a month and It runs fast as hell still, but I keep it clean, I have like 6 games on it, I do readily browse the web, but I make sure I don't download questionable material on it...*thats what my desktop is for*

Uh, on my 766, Firefox takes up 52,000k of memory. That's only 52 Megs or so, out of 1GB installed.

I'm not experiencing any problems with lagging. Check for spyware or other maladies...

thanks.. I will becareful..
I current just have office 2003, mcafee, steam, warcraft. That's it..
sorry to say this and I will probably be backed up by a lot of other people on this but MCafee is a really bad Virus program, even though a lot of Companies use it, Its only because its cheap and sometimes free. I would suggest moving over to Norton at least, In my case I use a free one and it works very well. Also install ad-aware and spybot to be safe. How old is yoru system.

Firefox Tweaks

Speed you up real good.

EDIT: Sorry, forgot to add this in. To do these tweaks open up the firefox browser. Then in the address bar type "about:config" minus the quotes. Then scroll down and find the values it's talking about. To change them double click. For additions, right click anywhere one the screen and select new -> integer and add the values shown. It's stupid easy and makes a big difference.

hm.. really?
but I used nortan before and I notice that it takes up a lot of resources....
I'd steer clear of both Norton and McAfee. I've seen Norton cause so many problems with other programs and drivers. Try a free antivirus like AVG or Avast. I use Avast, though I've tried AVG and thought it was okay. Lots of people swear by it. Avast is a little more of a resource hog, but for some reason I just like Avast better than AVG. You should also use at least 2 of the following: Spybot S&D, Ad-Aware, or Microsoft Antispyware (currently in Beta). My personal favorites are Spybot and the MS Antispyware Beta.

yeah if he's only willing to pay for his anti-virus then let him use it I on the otherhand use AVG its really good I like it....and as venom states...I swear by it... and as far as the 2 of the other programs, I will have to agree with venom....although I hate to sound repetitive but I've been saying that from post 1. so, But the ms antispyware thingy I didn't know it was already out...well in beta format that is.

FF started lagging _real_ bad for me as well, turns out it was one of my extentions that was the culprit ... so i'd check to see what all you have installed and if it _might_ be one of those
