Well personally I dont really use my XPS for anything other than light movie watching and games. One Thing I know for certain is that the Pentium M clock for clock is THE fastest consumer gaming cpu on the planet. Frankly it boggles then mind when some of you say the Pentium 4/Athlon 64/Turion 64 is faster without dishing out proof. http://www.gamepc.com/labs/view_cont...70ct479&page=7
You'll note in chart one how even the basic 2ghz model seems to be doing very well against the pentium4 and athlon64. Heck even the 2.13ghz model seems to destroy these so called super cpus we know as 3.73GHZ EE and Athlon FX55.http://www.gamepc.com/labs/view_cont...70ct479&page=8
You'll see the continuing trend among these scores as they begin to test more titles. excluding Doom 3 in those 4 tests I see nothing but PentiumM Domination.http://www.gamepc.com/labs/view_cont...urion64&page=7
here you will see for gaming that the athlon64 platform struggles to compete with the PM line as the clock speeds increase. Im quite comforted knowing my 2.0ghz cpu will easily outperform these future athlon based machines because clearly a superior graphics card or an enticing priceplan will probably be the only way to keep them competitive.http://www.gamepc.com/labs/view_cont...urion64&page=8
here we see a no contest score wher even the entry level pentiumM 1.6ghz cpu competes extremely well to the mid-high end cpus that amd offers.
The point im getting across is that although the pM is no super cpu its clearly a dominating cpu for gaming which is what most of us with DTR notebooks want the best of right?
