How long will the i9300 keyboard last under serious game playing?

topic...Im a little worried that after a year or two of playing games (mostly first person shooters, like CS:Source), that my keyboard will pretty much die out. I just got my i9300 3 days ago and i love it, so i want to know if there are any gamers out there who have put the keyboard through some serious gaming and it still performs well? I ask this, because i dont have enough desk space for a usb keyboard, and would much rather prefer using the built-in keyboard. thanks.

Without a doubt it'll take some serious wear. They aren't as durable as external desktop keyboards. But the good news is that laptop keyboards are very simple to replace and aren't terribly expensive. They esentially pop right in and out.

Another option to an external desktop keyboard is the Nostromos n52 gaming pad. It's got programmable keys for gaming and I've heard nothing but praise really. Just Google for reviews and read for yourself. Heck, there's even a post somewhere on these boards addressing the same pad. It can be had for ~$25 shipped (I know buy.com has it cheap). Good luck, and on a side note I'm thinking of picking up this pad in the future as well.

my 9100 keyboard was still great after a year of lots of gaming. this keyboard feels is excatly like that one, so I think that it should be fine. you can always have them replace it if it should fail prematurely though.

I use the Belkin N52 myself. They are getting cheaper by the day. You may want to look into that.

If it does wear out I'm sure (by the time it does) that replacements from Dell would be very cheap.

I second that. Been using a N52 for a while, it's an invaluable addition for gaming on a laptop.

I checked out that Belkin N52, it looks pretty cool....it doesnt seem like it has enough buttons though. For example, for CS: Source, you need pretty much the whole left side of a normal keyboard, which is far more than that thing has. Then again, i have not used it, so i cant say for sure.
