I wanted to note that I was one of the lucky bastages that had a Tiger DVD shipped to them before it was supposed to be.
Overall I'm enjoying the various tweaks. I ran an upgrade instead of a full install, and hence kept all of my applications and such in place. After reading the following review I opened up the mail app, which in approximately 2 seconds had located my entourage email account settings and allowed me to log in and automatically check my email in the previously unused application. Very cool,even though I will likely continue to use entourage. A nice "out of box" experience indeed. For the record if you do an upgrade to 10.4 one of the 1st things you may want to do is repair your permissions. In particular I had some Divx files which were playing choppy in 10.4. I repaired the permissions and now they play like buttah.
Spotlight is peachy, but i haven't really had a need for it yet. In ways it seems like it may be more useful tool for noobs than ppl who are pretty specific about how to manage a file system.
Dashboard is cool as it's nice to be able to bring up a few apps that i regularly use w/o having to dig into the (already easy to navigate file system via) finder or the dock (the dock can get crowded quick). I'm using the weather, calculator, calendar, & stickies. Very cool ones which i'll call up as i need them are the oxford dictionary, phone book, translator, and the unit converter.
According to the activity monitor my RAM seems to be used up a bit more than it used to be. I'm debating going for that 1GB stick i'm always referring ppl to @ newegg.
