Wow I was about to try and figure out a way to paint mine! I think I'll fair better spending the $85

You wouldnt want to make a walkthrough on taking it apart and assembling it would you?

So what do I need to replace the white trims on palmrest and on back of screen and the hinges?

New palmrest, new hinge cover and what?
They both look nice

Do the XPS2 LEDS in the palmrest work when you put that onto a 9300? I didnt see them turned on in your picture so are they non-functioning?
The LEDs would be sooo cool!

"Ooooooh! Pretty liiiiiights!"

Looks great Dellbert. Now I know how to remove the kiddy-look on an XPS and give it the tactful and professional appearance such a serious machine really deserves.

I may get beat for this but I will say I like the white. It gives it a pseudo-apple look.

*ducks*

Is it just me, or does it look like the silver on the XPS2 plam rest and the silver on the i9300 power strip where the power button and lcd hinges are looks like two different colors?

Look at the pics on the first page.

Tutorial for the LCD's in an i9300?
I imagine the palm rests are so expensive due to the inclusion of the touch pad. I wonder if it's possible to order one without the touchpad and use the original 9300 touchpad.

- You can get the parts by calling the spare parts number I provided in the first post.
- Cost for the XPS2 steel lid is about $80 (I decided to pass)

I've updated the first post with better descriptions of the parts.
I called Dell and they said they do'nt have XPS-G2 steel lid anymore, do you have any ideal where i can get that ?
Thanks alot

Looks great, but the white has grown on me now so I don't have any desire to change it over.
