This PuRam thing is really funny. There isn't anything on the NET on PuRam. It may be an Indian company, Puram being a big Hindu word. But more to the point, Flash RAM drives are the coming thing, unfortunately, coming is the operative word here. There are some amazing Flash RAM drives available, see M-Systems (www.m-sys.com
) for example. They have drives up to 34 GB with amazing specs. Nearly indestructible, high access speeds, very low power requirements ... ... ... basically, jet fighter stuff. But its also at jet fighter prices. Their units go for something like $1K per Gig. So I'd be very surprised if this PuRam if adequately priced. I mean, for the equivalent of 60 GB, you'd need two of them and that's like $60K, even with the quantity discount.
Of course, if you are true Hollywood, $70K for a laptop might be nothing, hell, some of them spend that much on flowers for three months and that's just the beach cottage, many would consider half that much on clothes every month as a minimum. One good gown for an awards could set them back more than that (though often they don't pay for those, its all just PR).
However, Solid State Disks will be the norm in a couple of years. Check out http://www.storagesearch.com/ssd.html
for the skinny.
Otherwise, besides being overly conscious of "slick" the company does have some real legs (as they say in H'wood). Just maybe they hype things a bit too much. Most of what they are offering is just zooped up SAGERS, and most of the zooping is apparently in the software. Hey, who couldn't, with plenty of cash resources, optimize XP for a lot of performance gain? Same with various drivers for things like the Video.
However, the cooling system they show is very interesting and does seem to represent a significant improvement. Check it out. I wouldn't mind having that in my machine. Could make laptop OCing a real possibility.
