ATTN: go-l.com is a vaporware marketing SCAM! - Page 2

Well, I do hope the best for them: we all have our markets and niches.

Still, what's with the "/" thing? Couldn't they use ƒ or Þ ? Maybe even ð or þ ¿?

Funky h'wood types... maybe "the artist formerly known as Prince" is behind this?!

Ç£ÆvŒ: the company formerly known as Clevo.

I'll send them another email today. They may be getting caught in my spam filter. I'm kinda interested in the "High Speed" DVD-R too.

ATTN: go-l.com is a vaporware marketing scam selling yet to be released hardware.

Mods please sticky this, as I swear this apple-ripoff company is in every other post I've read today

no sticky, but I merged them and kept your name - at least until they have shipping (non-vaporware) stuff...

Fair enough, everyone?

I emailed PC Torque about a potential infiltration by these undesirables posing as innocent members and making absolutely idotic first posts...

I think I notified the MODS as well...dunno if they responded...

Anybody wanna scam them with a scammed CC ??

Just give their link to some dude in Indonesia with a 486 and an internet connection and he'll bust right in and put them out of business

Yep, looks like someone has boogied in the night. Or perhaps vaporized in the light.

This was the Returned Mail Response to an email sent to the contact address on the web site. Too bad, it would be nice to have someone pushing the limits. Then again, maybe they were just getting too many inquiries.

Do I detect a bit of envy going on here?
I would say the mail bounce is because their server was down at the time. Whilst you guys are fast alseep (you do sleep, don't you?) I was wide awake surfing their site again.

I agree the hype meter is stuck on 350% and a lot of it is vapourware (to prove this to yourself check out their press releases). It seems even if somebody farts, they issue a press release about it, claiming they owned the idea 6 months beforehand.

I will give them top marks for selling the sizzle. I almost want to trade in my 8890 and throw away all my driver disks .
/wakes up from nightmare and slaps himself for even thinking it.

Lets see if they can reproduce the support inherent in sagerforums and of course the superb team at PC Torque .

Mmmh,
can't understand why this thread was moved from 'Notebook General (Other than Sager)' to 'Sager General' .

Ok, there is a lot of vaporware on their site, but i thought go-l.com is another reseller of Clevo.

Beside all the vaporware stuff they are selling the Clevo D470V (hope Sager will do this soon too). There are a lot of companies all over the world that announced the D470V or they even have a detailed shipping date. Nothing form Sager about pricing or shipping dates. Quiet dissapointing.

So, every thread about resellers that offers the D470V will be transported to the 'Sager General'???

Well they are listing it and letting you order it.. big difference from actually shipping.. at least when PCTorque has it available for ordering it wont be long from then till it is shipped..

That was a goof on my part... I merged threads and the one it merged with was in Sager General.

It's fixed (back in Notebook General) now.

This company isnt really pulling our legs I mean they do state the laptop wont ship until december if you look carefully in pricing section and the reason why they looks so apple ish is because they employ ex apple workers maybe you should read the site more over to get a better idea of where what and when is going on ^-^
post #33 of 78
I did read the whole site, every bit of it.

I've also tried to get some clarification on the SDDs they are offering. Got one answer that led to more question, haven't gotten a response to the second email.

I think they should be a lot more upfront with what their potential shipping schedule is, since what it conveys is they are shipping these right now, which isn't the case. With the SDDs they are offering, they should be more specific about the size of the drives and what the cost is. What they are offering is a 4 GB flash ram drive, primarily to carry the OS and other essential programs. Great, but they intimate they are offering these drives in sizes compatible to the HDDs usual to Clevo machines. Yes, those exist but the cost is really out there, like for a 60 GB drive, you are looking at a $65,000 machine.

These are not your typical upgrades. Me personally, rather than having one machine with one such lightening drive I'd rather have a reasonably nice car and two or three top of the line standard SAGERS. But if you've got the money, hey, go for it.

But the real point is right now, it is all vaporware and they should have made that clear. If it was going to be available in 30 days, that's one thing. But three months is an entirely different matter.

How about if I did a hot web site advertising molecular RAM and Nonexistium 3.2 THz CPU with Holodeck graphics but noted in the fine print "not available until Dec 2080"? Not good, not fair, and I'd thoroughly expect to get my ass flamed righteously.

Oh, did I mention the price, only $3,000,000,000. Shipping extra.

Wow! I want one. Can I pre-order it? Do you take Amex?

By 2080 you may find your price is actually quite cheap...

When I saw their laptops I had to make a post here.

In doing some research for go-l.com ... well I think this company is a complete hoax!

Check out this research information about go-l.com and you be the judge if go-l.com is a legitimate company or not.

That is truly an EXCELLENT find, Spinergy! Way to go!

I have e-mailed SAM some basic info, as well as links to this thread so we can all keep tabs on this scam.

Just goes to show, you can't do anything anymore without someone looking over your shoulder.

Big Brother? Hell No!!
What you have to watch out for are all the little sneaking, prying cousins.

Thanks for the link, it appears SAGER FORUMS is not the only group of super cyber heros on the job.
