I recieved my T42 laptop today, and I was wondering if there is a good way of making an image of a laptop? I have Norton Ghost and I'm trying to figure out a way to do this. The only way I can think of is to buy a laptop to IDE adapter, but there must be an easier way. Thank you all!

Ghosting your PC

I also am looking to ghost a notebook computer, it is supposed to arrive in 3 days or so. I have previously done the ghosting operation on my desktop, and it works like a dream. Just install all your apps as you like, ghost, and then re-image it later to undo all that windows deterioration and crap that gets on your computer over time. It speeds things up alot. Anyway, depending on whether you have another PC or not, there are many ways to do this operation. 1) you can partition your hard drive, and save a ghost to one partition, and use your working OS on the other. 2) you can backup your images to a DVD with a DVDR drive in your notebook (what I plan on doing) 3) I haven't looked into this, but I've read with norton documentation that you can create images over a network, so I believe it would be possible to save the image to another PC's hard drive on a network. I hope any of this information helps you. Norton Ghost is a grand program and I wish you the best of luck with it.

I only have one partition which is the C: drive, which is Win XP

So I can install Ghost 9 on the C drive, create image and also save the .gho image on the same C drive?

When I make the image, will the Ghost 9 program be included in the image?

USB hard drives are fairly inexpensive now. That is how I back-up my system.
