thanks.
Heres a list of all games that work with your graphics card... also has some listed that dont work with red dots...

Also try to install the latest BF2 patch that may get it working....

Why dont you guys just buy a dv4000 with a dedicated ATI x700 128?

Hey guys, I purchased the dv4040 about 6 months ago, and I couldnt be more pleased. It is durable, reliable and was well worth the money.

My question is this: Lately Ive been wanting to do some gaming on this laptop. Is it possible to upgrade this lousy video card? And if so what cards would be recommended and approximately how much do they cost?

If you purchased it about 6 months ago, I think you have the Intel Graphics Card, that´s an integrated GPU. Anyway, integrated or dedicated, you can´t upgrade the GPU. Sorry

I think most of the people that didn't got their laptop before the DV4000 was revamped and a dedicated card was offered.

I know in my situation they sent me a DV4000 as a replacement for a dead X1000 a little more than a week before the DDR2 DV4000s with X700 were offered by HP (Sometime in October 05).
