ZV6000 Review (and 9300 comparison) - Page 3

I ordered both through the HPShopping.com network. The first CTO I purchased took roughly a week and a half to reach my doorstep(includes order processing time, build time and shipping time). Now, The one recent one I ordered took a while longer. That one took a week to build but still shipped out sooner then expected. They seem to be very quick on processing the order, building and shipping them out. If you chose to order one through the HP Shopping.com network...I'd suggest that you do not spend the extra money on the 2 day shipping..as both methods will take atleast 2 - 3 days just to get into the US. The first order shipping on a Friday and got to my door on tuesday morning(wasnt supposed to come until the next day). My current order isnt supposed to be here until Tuesday..But I think it will be here earlier though.

Don't get your hopes up about upgrading to an express54 or pci slot graphics card. I haven't been following it lately, but from what I have seen so far, the mxm or comparable ati modular graphics add-ins would require a different interface on the motherboard, which is not currently part of the zv6000. But it's good to know that you were able to get doom 3 running well.

yeah, I've heard about the compatability issue too. But from what i've been told...They'll work. I guess nobody really knows until they are avaliable.

what the? i have heard of the express card but i thought that it was only a port for internet cards like the pcmci slot. so what is Express54 GPU?

My wife just got a zv6000 with an amd 3500, 1 gig ram, 60 gig HD, the upgraded video card as a desktop replacement for work. She bought the docking station and loves her "ladies" Tote leather carry bag.

I must say the laptop is fast. I specd it with XP pro and disabled unneeded software. It's quiet and fast!

Zv6000

I purchased the zv6000 and absolutely love this machine! I am able to play Half-life 2 at medium graphics for hours without it overheating or having anyother issues. Have recommended this laptop to friends and family and those who have bought it feel the same way.

The only issue is that it will not detect anything that I plug into the firewire port.
