bios beep problem

Thread Starter
I recently had a big luck for a 4780 laptop (clevo d47ev) and I've been having lot of fun with it so far.

But there's one thing that I don't like about it: the bios initial beep that is louder than the one in my desktop... my brother have a hp zv5000 series and it doesn't make the bios beep when the bios get passed... so I was wondering if it was possible to disable it... I didn't find anything in the bios...

if there's no bios settings for disabling it, is it hard to remove the bios speaker?

and while I'm in here, is there any software that can read temps sensors (if any) for the 4xxx series?

thx for your time ^^

I believe a BIOS Update was provided for some models that included the ability to mute the BIOS speaker. You may want to contact sager to make sure you have the latest BIOS version (TechSupport@sagernotebook.com) and include your serial number and Model and they will e-mail you the newest version.

Edit: For Temps you can google mobilemeter. Its works for the 4750 and other models.

I can say from personal experence with my 4080 that jchanc04 is correct on all counts, the updated 4xxx series BIOS adds an option to disable the boot beep, and Mobilemeter can read the temperatures (CPU and HDD), but unfortunately doesnt seem to be able to do battery info.

use the d900 thermal utility in addition to mobmeter for temperature as well. it has the added bonus of determining fan speed as well.
