XPS2 pics (WARNING: bandwidth intensive!)

First, let me just say that this laptop is amazing! At first, I wasn't too sure if the display was going to be good at all, especially in comparison to the Crystal View display from Fujitsu, but TrueLife(tm) holds its own just fine! High definition videos look amazing on the display. The following pictures just don't do the screen enough justice, but hopefully they would give you an idea of what you're getting if you're still not sure about this laptop.

"The Magic of Flight" IMAX 1080p video from microsoft.com.

Yet another 1080p video from microsoft.com.

Another 1080p video from microsoft.com.

Two IE windows opened side-by-side -- lots of desktop space!

A zoomed out version of the above.

The XPS2 pictured running Guild Wars next to my Dell 2005FPW on the left and my Samsung 192T on the right. If you saw this in person, the image on that XPS2 screen is really really beautiful.

The Guild Wars character selection screen. Again, this image does not do the screen enough justice!

Partially closed XPS2.

There's something about the red colored LED!

Another view of a partially closed XPS2.

Guild Wars is a great looking game!

Yet another 1080p video.

Good colors from this shot.

The reflection really isn't bad. It looks pretty slick actually!

You can actually change the LED colors in the BIOS config screen. Unfortunately, you can't really preview the changes as you make them!

The TrueLife(tm) display is really good at emphasizing colorful images. Everything just seems to stand out very well. It's not quite as good as what Fujitsu uses on their laptops, but it's still without a doubt a very good display!

I also calibrated my display using the ColorVision Spyder2 so the colors are actually deeper than what was in the factory configuration.

There's no reason to not resize in this case. All I see is one half of your picture when I scroll down.

I noticed you have two sets of surround headphones. Can you give me a quick idea of what each one is quality wise. Are the sony ones worth the money?

Java, the Zalman surround headphone is pretty decent though I think it sounds a little bit more hollow than the Sony headphone. If you want sound quality, the Sony one wins hands down. On the other hand, it can also be quite frustrating to use it because of the infra-red transmitter which needs a direct line-of-sight to the headphone.

Sorry for the huge image sizes. I resized them all to 1024x768 so as not to be too obnoxious. As for the focus, I had a hard time focusing in some areas because of the lack of light, but it seems okay for the most part.

Twilight, that's the APC notebook stand with USB 2.0 hub. Fits the XPS2 or 9300 nicely.
