Distortion on screen?

OK, I'm about to purchase a Sager 5660, I've read on some sites that on the bottom of the screen there seems to wavey lines of distortion. Now is this a problem with Sagers or does all Clevo laptops have this problem. ie Alienware, Hypersonic, etc.

My screen DOESN'T have this problem.

I remember this topic from before. There was a picture of the users' problem at this link: This shows the waviness pretty clearly.

www.geocities.com/fordvader/index.html

I will be as honest as I can about the screen. I DEFINITELY do not have this defect on my screen. The screen has no waviness, no splotches, no dark areas, nothing. The only complaint I can think of is the reduced viewing angle (especially vertically) when compared to Dell Ultrasharp or others like it. But since I am the only one who uses this, when looking at it from in front, it is as flawless as any other high-grade LCD. It should be noted that dead pixels are really a nonissue at 1600x1200. I have two that I could find, but they truly are not even visible unless I am literally 2" away from the screen (I measured! lol.) But those are a possiblility for any brand. I think we agreed before that the user with this particular problem definitiely had a defective LCD. Also this particular user was on a 5620, so maybe it is a more common problem for that LCD or something. Anyway, I doubt you will find this problem, and if you do, It is definitely a defect, and you should send it back. Good luck

LoL Pctorque, you should just write a FAQ with all the questions that arise so people dont ask the same questions over and over

ronpopiel...

So I was reading the review in your post and came across a picture taken:

Now it's probably a small thing, but grammar is a pet peeve because I'm neurotic like that.

"Any damaged are the responsibility of the carrier..."
But I believe they're talking about the package. So ... either I'm wrong or they are, but do they mean "any DAMAGE is..."

So yeah, I'm a grammar nerd. So sue me.

Love the review, by the way. Put it in the review forum?

lol... denkc, call up Sager and talk to them. You'll understand why it's written that way. They're great people, but most appear to not have English as their first language.

Of course if you watched me peck at the keyboard as if I knew how to type you'd understand why my posts need edited 10 times =)

haha, yeah I know Clevo is in taiwan. I'm half taiwanese ... other half chinese. so basically chinese. and a first gen. american too, so maybe that's why i get so peeved over bad grammar.

Or maybe it's just cuz i'm asian.

Taiwan is the manufacturing CENTER...go taiwan. I think I posted this before, but i'll say it again ... taiwan's population density is the highest for nations in the world. Dang place is so humid.

Lol, I know you're joking, but now that I read the last post i posted, it does sound kind of...snooty.

Georgia huh? I was born in Iowa...unfortunately didn't have enough time to leave my heart there because I was only there for a few months before I moved.

What was the thread about again? lol.

The distorion I guess is a problem with that persons particular laptop, so basically a manufacturers defect. Thanks to Adam for posting that link. BTW Just ordered mine from http://pctorque.com/ Adam is great to deal with answered all my e-mails within like 5 min. Can't wait to get it.
