light leakage and the fight with istnc your view needed! (video included) Asus Z71v - Page 4

1) the posting of private emails brings back memories of Kimble vs. Voodoo

2) based on the video, it appears your z71v has significantly more light leakage than mine

3) good luck

You're right, jabronie, though fortunately, this situation doesn't seem anywhere near so negative - yet. Still, the posting of private emails is wrong in my mind, and a businessman should find another way to deal with "customer relations."

ISTNC seems reasonable in its handling of the issue, aside from the posting of email. Somebody mentioned that the business should just refund the money in order to be rid of the problem; I would agree were it not a public issue at this point. Maybe some other compromise might be made? In any case, I hope this is worked out somehow to the satisfaction of both sides.

In my opinion, from viewing the video, that there is light leakage. Not MAJOR, but not slight either. I think that the OP does have reasonable evidence to warrent an exchange. The OP deliberately panned the camera from bottom, to right, to top, then left, and to the bottom again to show that the bottom in fact does has light leakage and it's not the camera's picture quality that is at fault.

If I was to use this computer everyday for the next 2-3 years, then I would also want an exchange. When viewing a DVD on your brand-spanking new notebook, and viewing a night scene, you dont want the screen to light up. It is very distracting. When viewing movies, you dont need to type, and it is usually pitch black. Also, I can work in a room w/ no light either.

Fact is, IF there is light leakage, rick will replace it, plain and simple.
