The ZV6000 deals are happening again!

You need to check your local Office Depot, but here is the Florida one.

After careful evaluation it is very similar to the deal that I got.

Just make sure you don't skimp on the good upgrades like video and memory.

before you ask, YOU MUST CONFIGURE THIS LAPTOP IN THE STORE.

HP and OD are really pushing these things. But if you want the cpu higher than 3500+, it's much cheaper to get the compaq r4000 through hpshopping.

the CPU is adequate at the 3500 level XP isnt CPU bound it is memory bound.

if you get a XP pro box you *may* be eligible for 64-bit editio later on. home edition isnt eligible.

I live in Boca Raton, Florida and I'm going to my local Office Depot sometime this week to buy one.

Here's some idea of how much a configuration would cost:

yeah, this deal isn't quite as good as the first round, as I got several upgrades for around the same price.

and the mandatory shipping isnt a bad deal considering it is really being overnighted direct from Kunshan, China. I tracked it, it only takes a day from when it enters FedEx's system. I'll pay $40 for that!

I got a little better deal when I ordered mine from HPShopping. I signed up for FatWallet and got 3% cash back which was $35.

that would almost cover the shipping at OD.

I know people would like to think otherwise, but you can't beat the OD deal at the 3200+ level. It just isnt possible.

Just walk into the store and order it, its not that hard.

You can't use the FatWallet cash back at OD when you go in to order it. Right now HPShopping beats the OD deal. No taxes in most states, Free Shippping, Free Upgrade to 512MB (2x256MB), Free Upgrade to 15.4" WXGA BrightView, $50 MIR, and 3% Cash Back from FatWallet.

you are smokin good stuff.

OD Configuration: $699 after rebates.

same HP Shopping Configuration: $899 after rebates.

HP is throwing in a $200 AND a $50 and it is still that price.

Let's leave sales tax out of it since not all states have sales tax. OD will charge you $40 shipping, so that moves the configuration up to $749. That is still cheaper than the $865 with your fatwallet discount.

(the OD deal is also throwing in a printer which will offset taxes in most cases. HP Shopping isn't offering anything like that)
You can't leave taxes out of it entirely...OD will charge local taxes regardless (unless you're exempt for some particular reason) However, Hp will only charge tax to a few states (This list has been updated/increased in the last 5days My state of GA now is on the list) like 4-6 states something like that...

So, if you live somewhere other than that short list, you have NO TAXES, $200 savings, NO SHIPPING...Plus HP will pay for at-home pickup next day if u desire a 30day refund, they will also credit you the difference if THEIR prices fall any lower within 30days of purchase AND you only have to deal w/ONE rebate of $50 vs. SEVERAL at OD.

Finally, you can get the 3%back through FatWallet & save ADDITIONALLy if you are a student/teacher in the epp program (6% off before $200savings)

no, if I lived in delaware and OD tried to charge me sales tax, we'd have a BIG problem. sales tax varies state to state and HP wont be able to keep that up for long. any state they have a physical presence in they have to charge (if that state has sales tax).

plus when I called hpshopping they were VERY high pressure to get me to buy, and I just had a question about the video card. in OD, I just asked where is the kiosk and they left me alone.

Interesting, good point!...Had no idea that there were states with NO sales tax.

Alaska, Delaware, Montana, New Hampshire, and Oregon don't have state sales tax.

Ok, I have converted. I canceled my order with HPShopping and went to OD and ordered one. I'm saving about $35 and getting a free printer.

They now have lightscribe available on Hpshopping.com on this model

$40 is for overnight shipping FROM CHINA. Quite a deal if you ask me.

ad that person may be in a no tax state.
I only paid $35 shipping. It said ground, I'm having it shipped to the OD store. I saw the Lightscribe option on HP, but it was not available at OD. I don't really care about the LightScribe, if I want one I will get it for my desktop anyways.
