hey everyone

i've been away from the forums for a while. my classes and student government have been keeping me busy for a while. i finally got everything in line to order a 5680! I can't wait until i get it.

i can't wait to see them too. i just don't have a couple hundred bucks to add to the price for a paint job. it's what's inside that i care about, but what's outside turns more heads.

I was tempted by the custom colors, but decided I'd rather throw in more RAM instead. Figure I'll just cover it with decals or something cheap. Anybody know how long after placing an order I should expect a tracking number? Would be nice to be able to check the UPS web site 10 times a day instead of just these forums...

I threw in the custom color AND the RAM But I sacrificed CPU speed......for now. A socket-478 Prescott will eventually make its way into my Sager. I am positive that if I passed up the custom color, then I would regret it forever when pictures of new colored Sagers start popping up on this forum. Plus, I'm planning to use this system for over 4 years so I do not want to be disappointed in any way.

I kinda like my 5680 default colors of Speedy Silver and baby blue.

Still screams power no matter how you paint it!!

I called and and got an estimated ship date

They were saying by Friday.
Looks like the unit ships from Asia (Hong Kong?) to Sager in CA, Industrial Blvd. It is configured there and ships within 5 days, That's where I'm getting Friday. I'm guessing 5 days to ship all the way accross the US so I'm expecting delivery on or before Friday of next week. I'll keep you posted.

i'm in the same boat. should ship by friday and be here the following friday. i can't wait. in the mean time, i might as well do a little dancing...

yep, that's what i did. however, i just received an email from adam with a tracking number from ups. my lappy should arrive monday october 6. that's much earlier than the original estimate. hurray!

hehe, as soon as i ask i recieve, mine arrived @ my dad's office at 9am this morning. Now all i have to do is sit thru a few classes before i can drive and get it. AAAAHH! MUST HAVE LAPTOP NOW!

I know there were some ppl interested in documenting shipping times:
I ordered at 11pm on thursday sept 25.
Sent on the 29th, overnight shipping.
Recived: tuesday sept. 30 @ 930am.

I didn't get any extra special options, so that might have sped it up, i have: 5680-s, 2.8ghz, 60gb 5400rpm, dual battery, windozexp-pro.
