i really like the apple powerbook 15" model. are there any PC models that ferature the same general dimensions (5.6 lbs, 1.1" thick, 13.7" wide, and 9.5" deep) and a full size, illuminated keyboard? i relize i pay more for these specs, but they are important.

i would love to stay in the PC world, but most PCs seem to be larger that the apple.

thanks.

Comparing apples to pcs is like comparing apples to oranges (pun intended, hyuk, hyuk, hyuk, hyuk.....)

sorry if i was not clear enough. i am not comparing the hardware as a whole, i know the diff between them. only these two qualities of the apple to a PC notebook. im looking for a PC with the same general dimensions (5.6 lbs, 1.1" thick, 13.7" wide, and 9.5" deep) and a full size, illuminated keyboard.

i currently am running a presario X1010US, which is pretty close for the dimensions. im looking to slim down a little bit more if possible.

thanks.

Asus V6V, the Asus will slaughter the apple in performance and price, yeah its has not backlit keyboard but that is really a scam anyways, do you know how much apple charges just for that keyboard?

you don't need a backlit keyboard. why? because

1) after a week with the system, you get used to the keyboard and you can touch type, no need to look at the keys...ever

and 2) the LCD will make enough light to make the keyboard visible and readable when it is required that you do see the keys.
