New HP nw8000 laptop

See page 13 of the document below for information about the HP nw8000 Centrino/ATi 9600 laptop. It appears to be a workstation version of the nc8000.

As I said in my post, see page 13 (out of 24). Go to the bottom of the page, put in 13 as the page number and press "Enter".

Nice find. *drool*

Anyone know how much those'll run? Much, much more than a Dell 8600?
Where do you see that it's widescreen? Just looks like another 15" model to me.
sorry overlooked the page13 thing. My bad.

It looks like a 15" not a widescreen.

Anyone know when a 17" high res will be out ?

The nc8000 is shown on the top of page 13 and the nw8000 is shown on the bottom of page 13. To see the nw8000, go to page 13 and scroll down.

Here is the link again:

I don't know how to link to a specific page in a pdf document. If anyone knows how to do this, please reply to this thread with the link.

Also, see the following link for widescreen Centrino / ATi 9600 laptops:

Re: Here is an article on Dothan availability

Is there any word yet as to the dothan chips being able to be used in current mobos? And if so what laptops offer upgradability.?

The only Centrino/ATi 9600 manufacturers that I know of that have specifically mentioned Dothan compatibility are Arima with regards to their M620 DC platform:

http://www.arima.com.tw/computer/indexpl.htm

And Arima and Gigabyte with their W620 and N601 platforms respectively:

http://www.digitimes.com/NewsShow/Ar...ages=A7&seq=43

However, I don't yet know which vendors will be offering these models in the U.S.

As to the new HP nc8000 and nw8000, I suggest contacting HP directly for that information.

Inventec makes the nc8000 for HP?

Based on this article, it seems likely that Inventec is the manufacturer of the new nc8000 and nw8000 laptops for HP/Compaq:

Here is another article on Inventec's role in new HP laptops:

Re: Pricing of HP/Compaq NC8000

Well I am glad I went with my 5680 then - no way extra battery life is worth the price there.

Re: Pricing of HP/Compaq NC8000

I agree with you that the current price of the HP/Compaq nc8000 is quite high. Though I am interested in buying a Centrino laptop with ATi 9600 graphics, I am willing to wait until more of these are on the market and the price is lower. I posted the information about the HP/Compaq nc8000 because it will be the first Centrino/ATi 9600 laptop available in the U.S. when it is formally launched next week.
