I have 2 theories:

1. Supply issue. They might not be enough 770's laying around if Dell offered it in the US.
2. To protect 9300 sales in the US. In the UK, the price difference between the 9300 and XPS2 is significantly different; however, in the US the 2 are priced relatively close to each other, so if someone wanted a 770 processor, why not just get the XPS2 instead of a 9300 since they will be priced very closely. This might also boost XPS2 sales in the US.
