Yeah they seem to round up in the hard drive market quite a bit, I know they do it with memory stick's too as I have a 512MB mem stick for my PSP and it's really 476MB. Also remember Dell's bloatware account for the 8GB already used on your drive along with the OS and restore partition built in.

Nop your wrong Vally,

But your not to far off the money.

The Hitachi "60"GB 7200RPM drive that Dell sell is actually only 57GB. (I just happened to have checked mine a while back)

So for marketing reasons they go to the next closest multiple of 5 or 10 and THEN they also choose to only use GB as 1000,000,000 as opposed to a Gigabyte of ram which is 1,024 megs.

Plus all of the above sizes are unformatted and when you format the drive you loose again.....
