hey guys, im not an editor or anything but im posting here because i figured that you guys would know more about this stuff.

as i said i dont edit. but i do love good sound. i am a musician of 14 years (piano and guitar) and i can really tell the difference between good and bad quality sound. i like my music and i like it to sound well, as well as the games i play.

my question is does the card improve sound quality when playing music or games? how big of a difference? is it worth the hundred bucks

oh yeah, i would be using a nice-ish set of headphones, and my stereo using RCA inputs via the headphone jack and a 3.5 mm to RCA adapter

It's an awesome card. If your stereo has optical inputs, use the optical out on the card-- it is worth it.

If you game at all, it's worth getting this card, and it does a fine job with music as well. Many options to choose from. I also hook my mixer up to the ZS and can record at 24/96. I'm a musician too. It's great.

Buy the pcmcia creative sound blaster audgy sound card. it is worth it. I am using it right now and it is the best. You may of heard bad things about it but some people don't know about updates that fix problems.

I'm using the pcmcia in a Sony and works and sounds great.

Yup, works great, no complaints. Sound is MUCH better than onboard (sager 9860).

If you want quality dynamic audio and good ASIO drivers get the echo indigo io card. Most laptops have spdif out anyway. Echo makes great audio cards.
