WOWWWW
it works on my old sager 4020... i spent 2 years looking for something like this!!
who wrote this?? he's a hero!
I coould have saved 2 hard disks if i had had this program before

now i really with for some helping instructions. what all those trip points,
throttles, AC0, AC1, etc really mean?

You can even read the memory addresses where you plug in the values so with some patience and care you can find a working solution for your model

just kiddin LOL

Anyways about that non-working GPU fan of yours, i had the same problem and the laptop used to freeze whenever i tried to fire up my games and randomly in windows. Finally I had to RMA it ,with 2 weeks after i had bought it!! You better call the tech support before you fry something

not really related but i'm at 2.2ghz on my m755 right now and mobmeter still reads 2.00ghz. what's up with that?

new: tried GetThermal... the Send error report thing comes up when i try to run the .exe and speedfan only detects my harddrive.

didn't someone say they were working on a way to enable temp monitoring on the 3790?...

wow, that is freakin sweet! The fan noise level I am happy with makes my computer idle at 54 degrees. Is that bad?

p.s. Does anyone remember what the CPU fan Fan speed was originaly at? I have it set to "0xf55"

wow, I might have to change my signature now.

doesnt this go back to stock when you shut down the program or restart?
It goes back to stock when you shut down and restart (if you don't have the program in your startup folder). However, the values remain the same when you shut the program off until you restart the computer.

is there a readme file for this program or anything like that? I'd love to know what everything means. I figured out the trip point stuff and all though.

Not for me. When I close the program down, the fans go to the maximum possible speed. (ie. All the way to the right of the fan speed bar) It doesn't sound natural, so I quickly open the program again and move the bar to what the factory had it set to.

Even when I shut down and reboot, the fans are going at a crazy RMP. I have to load the program, and bring it down to the factory level.

I didn't install anything, so I am not sure why its doing that.

This is a great solution to bringing down the fan noise when you don't need them. I just wish the program was a little more user friendly.

.
Goto the Trip Point tab and hit the Original Point button. That will at least put it at the oringinal factory settings (the cycle on and off fans).

For me, once I use the SET TRIP POINT button, it stays at those settings after reboot without it being it the startup folder or a scheduled task.

I don't remeber touching any other buttons other then fan speed bar. If I am not sure what it does, then I don't touch it. =)

Thanks for all the tips though guys!

[If you are not sure what you are doing, do not use this program. I can just see someone setting the Fan Off above the Critical level and buring the CPU or worse up.]
A few points on things I've noticed. (Trip Points are in Celcius and Fans are in Percentage although the CPU Fans use an Address so not sure if 100% will move the slider all the way to the right)
1. The System(DDR) fan will turn on at 50% when the CPU fan is triggered
2. The VGA fan has it's own triggers independent of he CPU.
3. The System(DDR) and VGA fans can be manually changed but you can not set Trip Points for them.

Loc Down - Don't know it means but the trip point is higher then Critical
Loc Fan - Don't know it means but the trip point is higher then Critical and Loc Down
Fan Off - This is the temp you want the CPU fans to turn off. If you set it to low the fans will never turn off once they start. I suggest never putting this above 45 if you're not sure what you doing.
F_1 - CPU Fan 1 - appears to be the secondary fan and the numbers below them are percenatge the fan should run.
F_2 - CPU Fan 2 - appears to be the primary fan and the numbers below them are percenatge the fan should run.
AC2 Trip - This is the first trip point where the laptop should hit during normal use with 2 fan percentages out to the right.
AC1 Trip - This is the second trip point where the laptop should hit during high use.
AC0 Trip - This is the thrid trip point where the laptop should hit during very high use and the both fans should be set at a minimum of 75% each but I suggest 100%. It is not good to run for a long period of time.
Throttle - the tempature is too high and the CPU will throttle back to try and reduce it.
Critical - In the Danger Zone. Not sure if the laptop will shut itself down since I don't know what Loc Down and Loc Fan are.

I have a problem with the program. i set all the trip points and percentages to the values i want. then i reboot (without the program in the startup folder) after the boot, when i check the settings, it gets messed up, the values are way lower than the ones i set and it causes the fan to stop functioning. (Im using it on the 4760) Even if i include the program in startup, the same thing happens and i have to manually do it each time. any idea why? thanks.

potato, do you think you can take some time and write a manual for this getthermal software? a step by step tutorial would be great!
I haven't read if either of these programs work on the 7620? Does anyone know if they will work and if so what is the better of the two that will allow adjustment of fan speed and also monitor temps of CPU/GPU etc.

A link would be great also..

Thanks

Does it still function as before ? If not do the fans come on at all or just not as soon ?

how do you run this program?

I downloaded and unzipped this program, now what?
I tried double click, and all that happened was beep, and caps lock activated. What do I need to do?
