It is designed to work with the 9860 (D900T) so other Sager Models might work partially or not at all.

Potato, can you please confirm, when we adjust the fan speed (ie. by sliding the bar), it will turn off all other fans on the computer?

If you mean sliding all 3 fan settings to 0 then yes all fans will turn off. But there might be failsafe triggers I'm not aware of and I'm not going to test that theory.

Otherwise if you mean just the CPU fan, once the System (DDR) fan starts, it stays on at 50% even if the CPU fan is slid to 0. The System (DDR) fan might have it's own temperature triggers above 50% but have not seen one yet. The VGA fan is not effected by CPU fan at all and is the most independent. The VGA fan uses the R: temperature for it's triggers but not sure if R: is for right and L: is for left.

I be gone until later tonite incase there are anymore questions I can answer.

Tanks mon! I did mean the CPU fan. The bar labeled "Fan Speed" in the Thermal tab.
I was just wondering because ever since I started using this program, I noticed an increase in my hard drive temp. Reaching 55+ degrees.

Whenever I game, I just turn the program off so it goes to factory settings.

Anyhoo, any luck we can get a genius to post the optimal settings for noise level/performance?

I can hear the CPU fan but I can't hear the GPU fan. Is that normal?

CPU Fans - loudest

VGA Fan - Second loudest - normally the CPU Fans come on first so the VGA fans will be hard to hear. I'm not sure if those that have the plate shown here on the top,
http://notebookforums.com/attachment...achmentid=3763
will have lower or higher sound from the fan. Since the newer the card the more heat it generates, the fans may hit the trigger points quicker.

System (DDR) Fan - Thrid loudest and very hard to hear. I used the GetThermal program to turn off the CPU and VGA fans and then I could here it in a quite room.

awwww, if only they made all the fans like the DDR fan...

I remember reading a couple of posts about the GPU fan plug becoming unplugged. I have searched but I can't find any specific information on how to get to it to see if it's unplugged and to plug it back in. I looked at the bottom of my 9860 and all I notice are a couple of screws missing along with a couple of those little rubber feet.

List of models that this program/utility works for (by Sager model #):
9860
4780
4080
4760
4020

List of models that this should probably work for:
4060 and 4xxx excluding 4750

List of models that this does not appear to work on:
4750
3790
5690

List of models that this probably will not work on:
56xx
3880(?)
desktops
Non Sager/Clevo laptops, etc.

Unsure:
8890
8790
4880
7620
any other unmentioned model#'s

I will update this as I compile more info. Keep on testing and PM me or add to the thread once you test a different machine.

Anyone got any clue about who the author of this program is?

what are your guys id;e vga temps? i know we cant change em so i didnt pooch em but mines sitting here @ r:79C, L:75C with no fan movement, which seems kinda high to me?

Messed around with this on Friday night. Cracked all the fans, said "wow, neat!", turned program off and started playing DE:IW. Then I smelled something....

....then I touched where my GPU is....

....then I ripped the powercord out....

Apparently the GPU fan didn't come back on when I screwed around with the fans and I thought I was gonna have a Chernobyl on my hands. I let it cool off for a bit, and now the fans work fine. Dunno what really happened, but I'm gonna steer clear from using this for now.

see my above post, same thing just happened to me, my gpu hit 115/120 before i thought, hey, whats that burning smell? *checks temps* (#&@*@!!! *Frantically mashing power button*

Inside the *.exe there appears to be a place where Clevo Laptops are listed in a row. I have not kept up on the Clevo to Sager model numbers. So I'm not sure if you already have these listed besides the 9860 and 4060.
D900T - 9860 - listed above
M120C - http://www.clevo.com.tw/products/M120C.asp
D400U - ? Radeon9600 64MB, FSB800, DDR400 - Only reference I found on a Foreign Message Board
D470W - 4760
D400E - 4060 - listed above
M400S - http://www.clevo.com.tw/products/M400.asp
D400S - http://www.clevo.com.tw/products/D400.asp
PX726 - ?

That seems too high to me but I have no idea what Laptop or Video Card you have.

On mine 60C - fan goes to 30%
64C - fan goes to 40%

What temps are people getting? Does anyone know what the average and/or maximum temps are? I cleaned up my system, only have 28 process running, and I'm at 54c, seems kinda high. What's the average for games? I don't want to start gamming and cook my system. And, how do you guys know what the temp of your GPU is? If it's from the Thermal tab, Thermal temprature box, under VGA:, then what do the R and L mean? I see this:

Rtemp?),Ltemp?)

Ac2 trip 40 15 15

now, this should mae it so my fans go at a constant 15 while its over 40 until it hits 60 at which point they bump up to 21/40...the problem being once it hits 60 the cpu fan jumps up to 100%, if i set my ac2 trip activation to 50 and touch nothing else it works as expected except my fans kick in at 50 not 40..anyone know why this is?
It may be that the man fan F_2 at AC1 must be at least 50% since it is the 2nd Trip Point. If the System dectects it is to low it may jump to 100%.

You have 64-bit processor, I have 32-bit processor and my temps range from 40-45C in a 77F(25C) Room just browsing the web. I'm not sure how much more heat the 64-bit chips make but seems 4C too high. We really need other 64-bit people for a comparison. You also have the ATI x800 and I have original go6800 so the following my not be true for the x800 but there are a lot of people with ATI x800 so there should be some good comparisons. For me the R: Right? is the trigger for the VGA fan and always higher then the L: Left? . The R: sensor appears to be in or on the chip. I have no idea where the L: sensor is but is normally 5C cooler then the R:

I have the 3.4 32 bit chip and i'm getting 49-52 browsing the web right now, also on my vga the R does indeed seem to be the trigger, however my L is always at least 5 degrees higher then me R... My processors never gone higher than 65 playing games which i'm guessing isnt bad for the chip since the default trigger it ships with from sager has 77 as the throttle and 85 as the critical (shutdown)

am i the only one who's L is always higher than R?
