Toshiba M30X?

After a couple of weeks of lurking and posting I have all but ordered the M30X.
Two main factors in the decision were
1.ToshibaDirect offers 12 months no interest financing
2.I was able to configure the unit.

And here are the options I am thinking of going with
Satellite M30X
Intel® Pentium® M 725 Processor (1.60GHz, 2MB L2 cache, 400MHz FSB), Microsoft® Windows XP Professional (SP2),
1024MB PC2700 DDR333 SDRAM (512MBx2),
15.4" Wide-screen XGA Display w/TruBrite Technology,
ATI® Mobility Radeon™ 9700 graphics w/64MB of VRAM,
40GB HDD (4200rpm),
DVD Super Multi drive,
WinDVD Creator,
Intel® Wireless Pro 2200BG (802.11g),
Li-Ion Battery (8 Cell, 4300mAh),
Microsoft® Works,
1 Year Standard Limited Warranty

Now I need advise on upgrading the hard drive. The following link are the 7 choices offered by newegg for 80gig and 5400rpm

Your link doesnt seem to work...but anyway I checked out the options listed by newegg for 80gb 5400rpm hdd's. They all have a similar sort of performance. Their average seek time and latensies are pretty close to each other.

Real life experiences are diffuicult to know about all of them but I do have the Fujitsu MHT2080AH and it has performed without any major problems. It runs cool(the area surrounding the hd does not get too hot even when the hd is used heavily) Also the noise is quite low and the hd is pretty quick.

The price is on the higher side among the bunch. Dont know abt the Wd's or the Samsungs. Toshiba hd's are the noisiest IMO.

Seagates & the Hitachi are also a good choice.

Aaaa!!!!
Toshiba Run Away!!!!!!
Toshiba got rated worst laptop maker
because of there tedency to break down the week after you buy them

anything but toshiba even the dreaded dell beats it by a long shot

Is that the way you all feel.

Foget about the hd-what do you think of the specs?
