The "precision" all over the back of the lappy looks lame :\
From the pics, it does. However, in reality, when the system is in front of you, it looks fine.

I don't like it either... but you know I've gotten more compliments about that very thing... so it really is just a matter of taste.

hey Ofelas,

Is there a singular page on dell's site that will keep you updated on latest drivers, etc for the m70? i was unable to find more information on the update you posted. i also went to the update download page at dell and entered my service tag #, expecting to see that update listed there, but nothing was listed.

ZeniGeva - I don't bother going to the appropriate download pages for any of my systems anymore; there's a link for "File Watcg" on the Dell generic support pages, that let's you add your Service tag for e-mail notifications of updated drivers/software.

I also checked the generic Support Pages, and the Dell WHQL driver 72.03 is listed there under Quadro FXGo1400 as driver version A03.

cool thanks ofelas! is this a recommended/critical update? i have had issues in the past with video cards and maya, and finally have a machine that seems to work flawlessly. im kind of paranoid about 'rocking the boat.' does the update provide significant improvements?

Ofelas-
Thanks for the tip, I'd actually been looking for some driver updates with little success. The hard drive is a Hitachi (the Device Manager lists it as "Hitachi HTS721010G9AT00"). It came installed when I ordered my M70 (I ordered it immediately after Dell started offering the 100GB 7200rpm drives).

Oh and while I'm posting... who gave me negative rep??? What's the deal with that? I'm not here to piss ppl off, I just like discussing laptops.

ZeniGeva - if you work primarily with Maya, stick to the relevant Dell ISV driver for Maya (either 71.84 or 71.86, don't quite remember).

TheElement - thx for that info!
