LOOK!! Here is a Program to adjust fan speed for d900

Hello ppl.

I found this on the sager forum just now. Its a program which shows the temps of the cpu, memory and the Gpu. It also shows the speed of all the fans and lets you control the speed of the and set the trip points of the fans. so you can control when the fans spin up or when the fans cut out (e.g. 45'c) but i would recomend setting this to 40'C so your fans do not cut out as this seems to be the main problem with either one of the fans getting stuck when they try ro spin up again.

If the link dosnt work plase email me and i will send it to you. Cheers..

I realize I am not nearly looked upon as graciously as the likes of DarthBeavis, Braingoo, or Craig and Aurora (if I forgot you, your holyness, I apologize). However, if this application that the fine gentleman posted above has not been mentioned in these forums before, I do believe this post deserves a sticky. This is the ONLY application I have seen that can interface with the temp sensor AND the fan modules of the 7700. I say well done, chap. Well done indeed.

Cheers,
Brady

Actually, the utility is hosted on my server space for only a few more hours...so get it while you can...
I will gladly see if I can find a spot to host it after that if there is enough interest.

I wonder how fast should I set my fan ?? Also will it break the fan if I turn on too fast?

What are your rigs' cpu temp?
My CPU runs idle at about 59 degrees C, and about 68 degrees C under load while gaming.

Wow thats hot. Your CPU thermal pad is toast. Better get some AS5 applied soon or your gonna have some problems.

Mine idles at 43 and 54 in games all day long. AS5 is my friend.
I got AS5 and running temp is 60 though...

Yeah, I hear that for the desktop p4 cpu running on a notebook cooling capacity, 60 is pretty normal.

Does anyone else have a problem with the app no longer opening after it has been minimized to system tray twice? I'd appreciate seeing if so, maybe we can get someone to work on a bug fix. The error when I try to restart it after minimizing it twice says something about failing to load the .dll file that is in the folder with the executable.

will this app work for anything. i have a area 51-3500? also are their any other good reviews to this and what should it be set at?

What is everyone's F_1 - F_2 duty settings?

I accidently hit the "Original Point" button under the TRIP POINT tab and I saw some numbers change. Anybody who hasn't done this with a 7700 let me know what their's is?

Thanks in advance...

Sorry for the dumb question
Can Someone please explain what the Loc Fan, Loc Down and Throttle Trip Points mean?
and also, does everybody's cpu fan speed appear as hex numbers?

You'd better not to try it until some guru makes it sure

I loaded it up last night. I set Fan Off at 40C, and tweaked the CPU fan up just a bit, and guess what - no more fan squeal! I waited for the fan to start making noise and then tweaked the slider untill it stopped.

Xtian - my CPU fan speed shows as hex numbers as well.

My question is this: in the VGA window there are two temps R & L. Does this mean Right and Left? My R: value is 53C and my L value is 55C - at least at the moment.

I'm happy now, no squealing.

Hey, Does anyone know what video card chipset temps ought to be? I have the ATI x800 and the temp after playing Doom3 for about half an hour was at 68C. At idle it seems to bottom out at about 53C. I ordered some AS5 the other day so I guess that will help lower those numbers. In the meantime I used the manual fan set in the thermal utility and turned up the VGA fan a bit.

My CPU runs between 41/42C at idle and 52/53C under full load.
