For anyone that would rather have the M675 instead of the M680, you can still get it. You have to click over on the small business section of the website instead of home. I ordered one this past week cause I did not like the M680, mainly becuase it's not modular like the 675.

Just thought I'd pass it along incase someone was like me and didnt like the 680 and was wanting a new 675.

ME! I would have got the 680 if they would have had the option for a 2nd hard drive. I guess its all in personal preference.

If your wondering, heres the specs:

Pent. 4 3.4 GHz
1 GB Memory (1 dimm)
60 gb 7200 rpm hard drive
2nd 60 gb hard drive
8x +- DVD CD RW drive
17.1 WXSGA+ Hi Res TFT/ATI 9700 128mb

They gave me a HUGE discount on it as well. I bought my very first notebook from gateway (solo 2500) and have been extremely pleased with it and gateway as well.

Edit= Supposed to be here no later than May 17. I can hardly sit still!

Dude, I'm SO with you on this one. I didn't get the M680 for several reasons, but the main reason I went with the M675 was due to the modular bays. I was holding off on my next purchase to see if the replacement (now the M680) would have similar features. No dice. I went with the HP for the money. I SO wanted to stay with Gateway even though I've had crappy support from them. I just loved that notebook!!!!

oo get yea yea but i guess gateway really wanted this notebook to be quiet and thin. It is decetnly quiet but it is very very cool i mean the temp hardly gets over 50 when doing moderate tasks to almost demanding.

For me, I prefer the Gateway M680 because it is thinner, lighter, and the battery last longer.

These 3 features outweigh the modular bay feature.
