Hmm there is two type of second battery options.

one is really a second battery which fits only in the primary battery slot, in another worlds spare tire.

The second one fit in the optical bay slot. Make sure you purchase the correct one.

There's a guide with the notebook that will tell you how to connect everything you need.

lol im sorry about that. I was asking how do I condition the battery so that I will last a long time or do you not have to do that with batterys now.

It also sucks as the sager 3880 will go in sale today. I need to see pic. I they are the same as before I will stay with the asus but if not I may go with sager and cancel my order

what is the vid card of the z71v clocked at. I see the sager is clocked at 300/600 dose the clock speed really make a difference in gaming that much.

I think I may just keep the z71v and if I dont like it return it in the 15 days. What do you all that have the system say about the gaming on it.

The default clock speed of the 6600 in the Z71v is 250/500. It can safely be overclocked to 290/573, which will increase 3DMark05 scores by about 400 points. I wouldn't overclock it too high, though, or you might accidentally fry your video card.

so in games though it will not that much of a change at default clock speed then right?

uh... If I understand what you're saying, there will not be that much of a noticeable difference in games between default clock speed and overclocked. Actually, according to smilepak, there's no noticeable difference between the Nvidia 6600 and the ATI x700 in actual gaming, just in benchmarks. the same can be said for the difference between an overclocked 6600 and one running at stock speeds.

p.s.: just checked out the Sager 3880. Very nice notebook, but it's too heavy for the size, in my opinion.

Yeah... I think I may be doing the same for now. However... later on down the road when I'm going to need all the juice I can get my hands on, i'll be overclocking then.
